Now that your doctor has told you that you have heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure, or the complications that may come with these conditions, what do you do about it? Even though your doctor may have given you medicine to help, what can you do now to make sure that your live a longer and healthier life? Perhaps your doctor said:
- "Mr. Jones, your recent EKG, which is a test of your heart's function, shows that you need medicine, exercise, and a healthy diet."
- "Mrs. Smith, we ran some tests while you were in the hospital, and the tests show that you have diabetes."
- "Mr. Johnson, I'm glad your co-workers brought you in here today because you have a very high blood pressure reading, and you will need to make some changes in your lifestyle."
